Efficacy of Bacteriophages in Wound Healing: An Updated Review

Bacteriophage therapy, a method of lysing bacteria at the site of invasion, has shown promising results in treating wound-associated infections. However, challenges include efficient screening methods, biofilm strategies, and quality and safety of phage preparations. Future research should focus on designing novel therapeutic approaches using phages, lytic proteins, bioengineered phages, or antibiotics in combination.
